Mount Makalu

from above Shershon in the Barun Valley Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world and considered one of the most beautiful of the 8000m peaks. First climbed by a French expedition in 1955. The NW ridge route is mostly snow and ice and averages 50 degrees until the summit gully which is some 65 degrees. |
