Burgh of Bearsden Kilmardinny

Winter snow scene at Kilmardinny Loch The loch is a public park / recreational area that is maintained by East Dunbartonshire Council. It is popular  with walkers and joggers and occasional anglers  ( there were previously some large pike ). There are many waterbirds - swans, ducks, grebe etc. The loch is surrounded by mixed woodland. Easy access is obtained from local residential areas  and there is a small parking area. The loch is near to Kilmardinny House.

Winter snow scene at Kilmardinny Loch BBC - Dog and owner fell through ice on Kilmardinny Loch The dog walked onto the loch and broke through the ice, the owner then followed onto the ice and also fell through.  He became extremely distressed and shouted for help.   They were rescued by another man using a broken tree branch.
