Top Adventure Holiday Locations in the UK

The UK is packed with locations offering great adventure holidays for the thrill seekers amongst us. From mountain climbing and ski-ing to more gentle pursuits such as horse riding and trekking, there is a place in the UK to suit all tastes and many holiday cottages are on hand to act as a perfect base.

Scotland has an abundance of excitement on its doorstep and Aviemore is the place to go to enjoy some great British ski-ing. All over Scotland there are opportunities for climbing and the area around Ben Nevis is the most popular with visitors and locals alike.
Scotland too has some excellent canoeing and white-water rafting and if you enjoy a more sedate pursuit then Scotland, as the home of golf, is simply the ideal place to arrange a golfing holiday.

Wales, of course has its own superb range of mountains and intrepid climbers might like to hike the Welsh 3,000`s. This involves scaling the 15 peaks in the country with a height of over 3,000 feet and is a similar task to climbing the Scottish Munros.

A simple yet popular pursuit is quite simply that of walking: The more adventurous can attempt the journey between Lands End and John O`Groats or alternatively walk the Pennine Way or the length of Hadrian`s Wall. All of these provide challenges for anyone on two wheels and are therefore popular with cyclists also.

Across the United Kingdom there are great opportunities for horse riding which offers some spectacular views all around our areas of outstanding natural beauty including the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District. This is a truly beautiful country and horse riding is a perfect way to enjoy the lovely scenery.

All across the country there are outdoor pursuit centres that take care of all your conventional activities and can also cater for extreme sports such as bungee jumping, parachuting and hang-gliding.

Cornwall in particular is a perfect destination with a wide variety of sports and pastimes in which to take part. In particular, fishing  is excellent here and both sea-angling and fresh-water fishing can be found in abundance.
For many years now, Cornwall has been known as the place to go for British surfers and the city of Newquay is at the hub of this. Newquay is a vibrant place full of adventure seeking visitors and surfing is just one of the many actives that you can do here.
Across Cornwall as a whole, you can enjoy some excellent nature walks, picturesque cycling and the county has more than its fair share of first class golf courses and this can prove to be an ideal holiday destination that promises to offer the best of everything.
